Расцвет was recorded in the summer of 2017 at Tanglewood, by musicians of the Boston University Tanglewood Institute’s Young Artists Composition Program.
The piece reorients the pitch material of the Soviet-era song, Катюша, which describes a young woman faithfully awaiting the return of her lover, a soldier. The title of the piece translates to "Blossoming," and references both the treatment of the material in the piece and the first line of the song it is based on.
